Poem

If Wishes Were Fishes (Seuss Style)

In memory of Dr. Seuss, of course!

If wishes were fishes,
The seas would be full,
And they'd have to migrate to land,
If wishes were fishes,
Their whole population,
Would very soon get out of hand.

If wishes were fishes,
It wouldn't be long,
'Till they'd have to take to the sky,
And we'd look quite silly,
As we ran willy-nilly,
Waving our fishnets up high.

If wishes were fishes,
They'd dive through the clouds;
Challenge each other to race,
Getting so rowdy,
On their wings of fin,
They'd eventually launch into space.

From there, where they'd go,
I don't hopefully know,
The Third Heaven is where, I suppose.
There they would be fed,
With heavenly bread...

To thousands...

...so the story goes...
