What happened to the Princess and Toad

Where Princess worked for so many years
Fell victim to the financial rule
Make a profit or just close it down
So the Princess has gone back to school

Health Information Management field
Are the classes that she has arranged
From modular home supervisor
To college student, was pretty strange

But Princess, she had made up her mind
That, in this field she wanted to be
And her short term goal was established
She’d earn an Associates Degree

Bachelor Degree is her real aim
And I know that she will reach that goal
Hours and hours of studying
Her Grade Point Average? 4.0

Sunday School Teacher and Youth Leader
In all of these things she does her best
But quite frankly, from my point of view
Country Fairy Princess needs a rest!

But yes, she is still quite the Princess
With not a whole lot of time to write
But she misses the wonderful friends
And she misses the Poet’s Tree site

Now Toad, well, that’s a different story
He was not laid off or even fired
Use to just sit on a lily pad
(In his defense though, Toad was retired)

With the financial changes in Life
Toad had to do more than to just shrug
After all, there isn’t much profit
In the selling of freshly caught bugs


So Toad hopped around to a few stores
To see if any job, he could find
But when they saw it was a real Toad
For some reason, they laughed and declined

Now Toad, he was pretty persistent
One thought Toad was CUTE! (Why is unclear)
But they fitted him with a red vest
And let him be a front end cashier

Customers thought him quite amusing
“Make him a Manager” they would say
So they moved Toad to electronics
Where he is manager to this day

So Toad and Princess are doing fine
We are just caught up in quite a whirl
Country Fairy Princess with studies
Toad laughs, married to a college girl.
