COUNTRY MISS [sonnet]
With locks untamed, cascading down her arms in windswept waves of burnished auburn gold, a puerile look belies coquettish charms... as sea-green eyes flash hints of passion bold. Soft cheeks outshine the blush of fairest rose, as trem'bling fingers graze her sun-kissed skin; he tastes of summer on her freckled nose, delighting at the dimple in her chin. Upon love's countenance, sweet promise lies, of faithfulness endured and strength of will ; a gentle trace of grace in sultry sighs, he vows to never (ever) reap his fill nor heaven hold a candle to his girl... this country miss who sets his heart awhirl.
